Latest Chapter News Thursday, December 7, 2006 By all accounts, last Saturday's Winter Ball was a great success. The SF Fire Department was thrilled with the multitude of toys that everyone donated to help children in need and all had a great time dancing all night. A huge thanks to Skot, Gregg, Brad, Mikel, Chris, and Doug for all your work pulling another great dance event together. Let's do it again soon! Now... on with this week's news... "Pride Family Weekend" at Western Warehouse In lieu of a shopping night bus this weekend, the Western Warehouse is extending a 25% discount on all merchandise in the store to anyone in the Bay Area LGBT community. There's a whole lot of great merchandise to be had including boots, western jeans, levi's, fashion jeans, work wear, shirts, skirts, hats, belts, buckles, and much more! We encourage you take a drive over to Milpitas this weekend and take advantage of this one time sale. The Western Warehouse is located at 251 Ranch Drive (near I-880 and Hwy 237) in Milpitas. To ensure your discount when you arrive, simply ask for Rio (the store manager). Annual Meeting - Dec 11th All chapter members are strongly encouraged to attend this year's Annual Meeting. It is at this meeting that we look back on the past year, celebrate our successes, and elect our board for 2007. It's a very important meeting for the chapter and the more members we have present, the better. Breaking from the norm... this year's annual meeting will be held Monday, December 11th at Chevy's Fresh Mex restaurant located at 3rd & Howard in San Francisco. Beginning at 6:00 pm, you'll be treated to a wonderful spread of food. The meeting will begin sharply at 7:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there. 2007 Board Nominations It's not too late to get your nominations in for all 2007 officer positions. To ensure that there is time to confirm any new nominations before Monday's meeting, please make your nominations by the end of the day on Friday, December 8th. If you have anyone in mind for the offices of President, VP of Administration, VP of Rodeo Operations, Treasurer, or Secretary, drop a quick note to our Nominations Committee Chair, Chad Heintz, by emailing nominations@bayarearodeo.com. All chapter members who've been in good standing for at least the past 6 months are eligible for a board position. 2007 Bylaws Changes This is the time of year when we review our chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules. Proposals for changes to either of these will be voted on at our Annual Meeting on December 11th. All members are encouraged to review the current Bylaws and Standing Rules documents and submit any proposals you may have to our Bylaws Committee Chair, Mikel Edwards, by emailing bylaws@bayarearodeo.com. If you have proposals in mind, please have them to Mikel by the end of the day on Friday, December 8th.
