Latest Chapter News Tuesday, November 28, 2006 At the beginning of the month we had our Volunteer Appreciation Party and, as anyone who attended will tell you, it was quite the enjoyable day! 35 of us boarded a motor coach at 9 in the morning in San Francisco and headed up to the Napa Valley for some wonderful wine tasting, tours of a couple of wineries, a fabulous outdoor lunch, and a whole lot of fun & laughter through it all. We can't wait to see what the volunteer committee works up for next year's appreciation party! Thank you to Doug, Gregg, and Chris for all your work pulling this year's event together. It was a perfect way to show our appreciation for all of our volunteers. It's official. The holiday season has rushed in and there's not a single one of us that doesn't have their fill of activities in the remaining weeks of the year. These remaining weeks are also the perfect time to celebrate all that the chapter has accomplished in the past 11 months and to think about what we have the potential of accomplishing in the new year. We hope you will come celebrate with us at the Winter Ball this Saturday and again at the Annual Meeting on December 11th. Now... on with the details... Western Winter Ball - Dec 2nd Join us for a special night of non-stop country/western dancing in the Grand Ballroom of the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave., SF) from 8 pm - 1 am. You can count on plenty of fun, a festive crowd, and other wonderful surprises. In the spirit of giving, this evening will benefit the San Francisco Firefighter's Toy Drive. All who bring a new, unwrapped toy will get into the dance for free. Admission is $10 for those without a toy. For more information, visit: Annual Meeting - Dec 11th All chapter members are strongly encouraged to attend this year's Annual Meeting. It is at this meeting that we look back on the past year, celebrate our successes, and elect our board for 2007. It's a very important meeting for the chapter and the more members we have present, the better. Breaking from the norm... this year's chapter meeting will be held Monday, December 11th at Chevy's Fresh Mex restaurant located at 3rd & Howard in San Francisco. Beginning at 6:00 pm, you'll be treated to a wonderful spread of food. The meeting will begin sharply at 7:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there. 2007 Board Nominations The nominations process for the 2007 Board of Directors elections is underway. If you have anyone in mind for the offices of President, VP of Administration, VP of Rodeo Operations, Treasurer, or Secretary, please drop a quick note to our Nominations Committee Chair, Chad Heintz, by emailing nominations@bayarearodeo.com. All chapter members who've been in good standing for at least the past 6 months are eligible for a board position. 2007 Bylaws Changes This is the time of year when we review our chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules. Proposals for changes to either of these will be voted on at our Annual Meeting on December 11th. All members are encouraged to review the current Bylaws and Standing Rules documents and submit any proposals you may have to our Bylaws Committee Chair, Mikel Edwards, by emailing bylaws@bayarearodeo.com.
That's the news for now. Stay tuned for more information next week. In the meantime, if you have any questions, comments, additions, or corrections please let us know.
