Thursday, August 31, 2006

First things first, Thank You! to everyone that participated in our Private Shopping Night last Saturday and made it out for our annual Eagle Beer Bust last Sunday. Both events were a big success and everyone seemed to have a great time. A special thanks is due to those who volunteered their time at the Beer Bust preparing food, selling raffle tickets, handling the door, and entertaining the crowd. Because of you, it was one of our most successful afternoons at The Eagle to date. Well done!

This week's news is all about the biggest news in the Bay Area, our rodeo & festival. It's now only two weeks away and all the buzz is indicating this should be our best ever! Hope you're planning on being there...

Buckin' Bar Crawl - Sep 14th

On Thursday, September 14th, we invite you to meet up at the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave., SF) at 7:00 pm to jump on-board our party bus for one outrageously fun evening. You'll be joined by several of our out of town guests as we take a festive tour around the city to visit many of our sponsor bars. Stops will include the Castro, Sundance Saloon, Esta Noche, and The End Up. It's the perfect way to kick-off your rodeo weekend a little early. Tickets for the bus are available online by visiting bestbuckinthebay.com and clicking on the Tickets button.

Buckin' Bingo with the Sisters - Sep 15th

Get your Friday night of the rodeo started a bit early with a couple hours of laughter and bingo with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Yes, we said "Bingo!". But this isn't your typical bingo experience. In fact, you've never really played Bingo until you've played with a Sister! As an added bonus, all who play bingo gain free admission to the Welcome Dance later that evening. Be there from 6pm - 9 pm at the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave, SF) in the El Dorado Room.

Western Warehouse Welcome Dance - Sep 15th

The first big dance party of rodeo weekend is on Friday, September 15th at the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave., SF). There will be non-stop dancing in the Grand Ballroom, a special performance by The Saddletramps, and lots of great entertainment in our Royalty Show in the El Dorado room. Don't miss it! 8 pm - 1 am. $10 Admission.

Buckin' Ball - Sep 16th

Our biggest party of the year is on Saturday September 16th at the Cathedral Hill Hotel (1101 Van Ness Ave., SF). Kicking off at 8 pm, this year's Buckin' Ball is certain to be our biggest ever. In conjunction with the non-stop dancing in the Grand Ballroom, we've got headline entertainment for you. That's right, world-renowned country dance recording artist Scooter Lee will be hitting the stage at 9 pm sharp to entertain you. The entertainment doesn't stop there, later that evening in the Barbary Coast Cloggers will stun you with their high-energy clogging skills on the dance floor and many wonderful featured entertainers will delight you in the El Dorado room. You absolutely don't want to miss this party! 8 pm - 1 am. $15 Admission.

Hot Rodeo Action - Sep 16th & 17th

Did we mention it's "Rodeo Weekend" in the Bay Area!? That means, in addition to all these great parties, we're bringing you two fantastic days of hot rodeo action in the Midori Arena at Driscoll Ranches in La Honda. Men and women from across the US & Canada will be competing both days in 13 rodeo events including Bull Riding, Bronc Riding, Barrel Racing, and (unique to gay rodeo) the Wild Drag Race. In addition to the rodeo action, there will be an outdoor dance floor, food, and a good number of vendors to check out. For directions to the grounds from anywhere in the Bay Area, visit bestbuckinthebay.com and click on the Rodeo Grounds button. Don't miss the fun! 9 am - 5 pm. $15 Admission. Free admission for children 14 and under.
